Many pastors tell you that they knew from a young age that they were called to be a pastor. Not Pastor Biber! Growing up, he loved math and science and was certain that his career would be in engineering of teaching. He went to U.S.C. for 6 years, completing a BA and MA in math. Through the encouragement of Christian friends and various pastors, he began considering church work while in college, but was not convinced of God’s calling until he was half way through with his master’s work. He finished his degree and went to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1997. Pastor Paul Biber was ordained as pastor in June 2001. He served a church in Wisconsin for 5 years before being called to St. Lucas. He and Becky were married in December 2003 and have two wonderful children – Elijah and Grace. Pastor Biber recently completed the four year Pastoral Leadership Institute (PLI) program, culminating in an 11-day mission trip to Brazil. Pastor Biber enjoys all aspects of pastoral ministry, but is particularly passionate about missions, teaching, leadership, and youth work. He is also working on his D.Min in Missional Leadership and is planning on developing a comprehensive training program for Lay Leadership Development as his major project.
