Bringing, Nurturing and Equipping People for Christ

When people come to experience God’s love and forgiveness in Christ, they can’t help but share this amazing message with others.

Bringing People to Christ

In Mark 16:15, Jesus commands us to “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” The congregation of St. Lucas endeavors to fulfill this command through its outreach efforts in the community. Whether directly visiting those who haven’t experienced Christ’s love, providing access to Christian Education or witnessing through our many community service events, we are always hopeful of Bringing People to Christ…

Nurturing People in Christ

In John 17:17, Jesus prayed for his disciples to be made holy: “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” Through these words, our Lord was nurturing the faith of his closest followers through His sanctifying grace. Likewise, the congregation of St. Lucas nurtures the faith of its members and the surrounding community by explaining the truth of God’s word and serving their needs…

Equiping People for Christ

Paul, in Ephesians 4: 11-12, wrote:” So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” This passage clearly defines the mission of “Equipping People for Christ.” Although we have been saved through God’s grace, apart from works, it is that same grace that empowers the people of St. Lucas with the knowledge and skills they need to serve others and spread the message of Christ.
